Kindergarten Language Arts Data

Common Core Standards

Data, data, data!  Keeping track of data is something that I try to do daily.  Just like all teachers, I am trying to come up with something that will be efficient and save time.  I created a Language Arts Form that I plan on using next school year to keep track of kindergarten language arts standards introduced, retaught, and mastered.

The quarters are color-coded for easy organization.  I am currently working on common core standards for math.  The forms are only used for myself, not for student use.

This is an example of how to use this packet.  I write the date of when I introduce the standard.  There is also a section where to document when the standard is re-taught and mastered.  I like to put the percentage of mastery with the date.  If you are interested in this product, click any of the above pictures to link to the download of this product.

Venn Masterpieces

One of the most successful activities to develop comprehension is to have students compare and contrast content.  Similar and different lessons can be done in many ways.  Several teachers in our school create "Venn Masterpieces".  In this post, we have included a few "Venn Masterpieces" from teachers in our school.

We would like to see your ideas.  Feel free to comment on how you use similar and different in your classroom.
