Classroom Reveal (Kindergarten)

I am so excited to link up to the Classroom Photos Galore Linky Party!!  This year, my classroom is a camping theme.  I have used a few camping themed TpT products to utilize in my classroom.  I purchased an amazing classroom decor packet from Randi at Teach It With Class!  I also used an alphabet line, happy campers expectations, and Randi's camper compliments.

My students keep graded work in these mailboxes.  I hot glued a small tent to the counter top to make it a little more appealing.

For some reason, this is one of my favorite camping themed displays in my classroom.  (I know...it seems really easy, but I like the way it turned out.)  The flashlights just add a little "flash" to how students go to their stations.

Our classroom yearly goals are posted as soon as you enter the room.  The yellow highlighted line is our "goal" where we want to be at the quarter benchmark.

The writing station is also located near the entrance of my classroom.  I purchased Deedee Wills' August/September Writing Work Station for this station.  I am really focusing on color words this month; therefore, this station has many color word activities.  I also posted the color words on the writing station board.

 
I really don't have a reason why I chose "camping" as my theme this year, but I am glad that I did.  My kindergarten students have enjoyed the first few days in the classroom.  Happy campers make a happy teacher!  (wink wink)

I also wanted to post about the MANY (and I mean MANY) "cans" that I have near my rug area.  I have two young boys.  When they were babies, I kept some SEVERAL Enfamil cans.  These can be used to review for almost any skill.  Here are a few pictures.

 This can is used to review patterns.  I know patterns are not part of the Common Core, but they should be. (wink wink)

 "Locked Out" is probably the student's favorite.  At our school, we have to travel (walk) between buildings to go to special classes.  Sometimes we have a few extra minutes to spare, so I take this can.  I put word wall words, letters, or any kind of skill inside the can.  When we reach a door  I say, "Locked Out!"  Students have to say the "password" before passing through.  It is engaging and the kids love it!
